This magnetism activity gets your students looking at which materials are magnetic. They will go around outside equipped with a magnet to investigate which objects it sticks to as part of your forces and motion topic.
Ages 4 – 6: Give your students the magnets and let them play and explore. As they go around ask them questions and get them to ask questions. You will be surprised what they find out!
Ages 7 – 9: They will go outside equipped with a magnet to investigate which items it sticks to, recording their results in the table. They can then answer the differentiated questions encouraging them to think about which kind of materials the magnet is attracted to.
