This activity encourages students to focus on small details as they use their observation skills to closely examine objects in your outdoor area. They will select an object (such as a leaf) and draw what they see in three different ways: with the naked eye in the first circle, with a magnifying glass in the second, and with a microscope in the third.
This is an excellent activity to introduce students to microorganisms while allowing them to use various scientific tools. If you don’t have access to microscopes or time is limited, an activity sheet is included with just two circles.
