The Puddle Size math investigation is part of our huge 'The Rain Project' pack of rain themed resources. Check the pack out here: This activity is all about measuring using diameters, radius, and perimeters.
Children will find 5 puddles to measure, recording their results on a graph before answering some questions about their results. This is a great activity if you're looking at measurement and units of measure.
The easiest way to do this activity if by giving each group / child a bit of string to measure the puddles then measuring the string to find out the answer. You could also get them to create their own string rulers by adding units of measure onto the string.
