🌳 Term 1 — Weeks 1–10
Week Lesson Theme Curriculum Links Summary
1 WILD WORRY DOLLS Creativity Students will collect sticks during a nature walk and transform them into worry dolls using paint and wool.
2 TWIG ST RS Creativity Students will collect twigs during a nature walk and transform them into raffia-wrapped star shapes using simple techniques.
3 LEAF TREES ART Creativity By gathering leaves of different shapes and sizes, they explore nature as a creative medium for art.
4 NATURE CROWNS Creativity In this outdoor session, children will use natural treasures to craft their own nature crowns. They will go on a nature walk to gather leaves, flowers, and twigs, then tape them to a card strip to create a unique crown design.
5 STICK ANIMALS Creativity In this session, children will create their favourite animals using sticks they collect. They will explore their surroundings, gathering sticks of different shapes and sizes, and then use their imagination to design and build their chosen animal.
6 OBSTACLE COURSE! Communication Students will work in groups to create an obstacle course using a variety of natural materials found outdoors and provided equipment.
7 NEST RAIDERS! Communication Students will work in teams to capture the opposing team’s flag while protecting their own.
8 MYSTERY WORDQ Communication Students will work in small groups to hide and search for letters. Using the letters they find, they’ll collaborate to figure out a hidden word.
9 SECRET CODE TREASURE HUNT Communication Children will create a secret code using non-verbal signals, hide a special object, and guide a partner to find it using their code.
10 TEAM HIDE & SEEK Communication This is a fun, active twist on classic hide-and-seek. Students work in teams to hide and search for one another in an outdoor space.
🍃 Term 2 — Weeks 1–10
Week Lesson Theme Curriculum Links Summary
1 NATURE FRIENDS Reflection Students will work in pairs to create “Nature Friends” using natural materials such as leaves, sticks, and stones.
2 REFLECTION SPOT Reflection This outdoor session encourages students to reflect on their thoughts and emotions, helping them develop coping mechanisms and promoting mindfulness as they connect with nature.
3 CIRCLE TIME Reflection In this session students will participate in an outdoor circle time experience focused on listening to the sounds of nature. Reflection prompts will encourage them to connect with their surroundings, feelings and each other.
4 COFFEE FILTER LEAF GARLAND Reflection In this sessions students will collect leaves of different shapes and sizes, and use them as templates to create colorful coffee filter leaf garlands. They will then reflect on something they appreciate most in nature and write it on their leaf.
5 ANIMAL HOMER Reflection For this session students will explore the outdoors and create mini animal homes using natural materials like sticks, leaves, and stones. They will then discuss what animals might use their creations and why, reflecting on the needs of different creatures.
6 TREASURE HUNT Independence Students will work in pairs to navigate a map or satellite image of the school grounds, following clues to find hidden “treasures” (number cards) marked with Xs.
7 ARCHAEOLOGY ADVENTURE Independence Students will transform into junior archaeologists and work in pairs to carefully excavate a designated area, uncovering “hidden treasures. They will then draw and describe their finds on a piece of paper.
8 MODEL GARDENS Independence Students work in pairs to create miniature gardens on plates or trays using soil, stones, twigs, leaves, and other natural materials. They’ll explore textures, colors, and spatial relationships while developing creativity and a love for nature.
9 FLOWER PERFUME Independence Students will become chemists in this fun and creative session where they will gather a variety of fragrant materials like flowers, leaves, and herbs. They will then crush these materials and mix them with water to create their own unique “nature perfumes.
10 FREE SESSION! Independence In this session, students will explore the natural environment and use their imaginations to create games and activities.
🍂 Term 3 — Weeks 1–10
Week Lesson Theme Curriculum Links Summary
1 LEAF SEWING Creativity This session helps to develop or introduce an important life skill. Students will explore the outdoors, collecting interesting leaves.
2 NATURE MARACA Creativity Hear the sound of nature as students create maracas using natural materials found outdoors. The maracas can then be used for a musical exploration activity.
3 NATURE BRUSHES Creativity In this outdoor session students will create their own natural paintbrushes from sticks and natural materials like grass, leaves, or reeds. They will then experiment with the brushes and paint to create unique works of art.
4 LEAF MONSTERS 0 Creativity Students will search for the perfect leaves to become the base for their very own leafy monsters where they’ll use crayons and other natural finds to bring their monsters to life.
5 NATURE SOUP Creativity Students will explore the outdoors and gather natural materials to create their own magical soups. They will write about the ingredients and the magical properties of their concoctions.
6 TREE HUGGING Communication This lesson children will become friends with trees as they work in pairs, blindfolding one partner and guiding them to a specific tree. The blindfolded student will explore the tree using their senses, then be guided back and try to identify the tree by touch and smell alone.
7 RIVER CROSSING Communication This week’s session is all about teamwork, cooperation, and trust. Working together to safely navigate a pretend river using cardboard rafts, students face increasing challenges as variations are introduced.
8 PATTERN BUILDERS Communication This paired activity challenges students to communicate effectively as one student describes a picture using clear descriptions and positional language, while the other builds the design with leaves and sticks.
9 TEAM CHALLENGES Communication Students will balance sticks between their fingers, untangle a human knot and create shapes using their bodies.

6 DINO LANDSCAPE Creativity In this imaginative outdoor adventure, children will transform a tray or designated ground area into a prehistoric landscape teeming with dinosaurs! Using natural materials like leaves, twigs, and rocks, they will create a miniature world for their favorite dinosaurs.
7 NATURE MAPPING Independence In this outdoor lesson, children will be provided with a map of the designated outdoor area. They will explore the area, observe wildlife, and draw the creatures they spot in the correct locations on their maps.
8 TREE HUNT Creativity In this session, students will go on a tree treasure hunt, exploring the outdoor area to identify different types of trees. Using their observation skills, they will draw the leaves, tree, and any additional details (flowers, fruits, etc.) on an activity sheet.
